Reminders
Please read daily and complete your Reading Calendar by coloring in the box for the day that you read. Read at least 20 minutes a day with your child for a minimum of 12 times a month to receive your Tiger Reading Award by the First of each Month.

Weekly Newsletter 30-9-2018/4-10-2018
Dear parents,
We will begin a reading program where you and your child will read together at least 3 times a week each month for a total of 12 times minimum for the month. Please set aside at least 20 minutes to read an age appropriate picture book to your child and discuss the pictures and words together. Once you have read together please color in the box on the calendar corresponding to the day that you read. Sign the calendar and return it back by the First Day of the Month. The reading program will be ongoing every month to introduce the love of books and reading to your child.
Payment and consent for the trip to ClubLiko is due by Thurs. Oct. 4th. There will be no exceptions if payment is not on time as the Club wants to know how many children will attend in advance. Please do your best to send your child as school trips are an important part of school and learning outside of the classroom. I am looking forward to everyone attending and having a fun, educational day.

This week we will be taking Letter Cc identification and letter sound. The words beginning with this sound are cat, cow, car, cake.
Revision of letters Aa and Bb sound , identification and vocabulary.
Library Story Time:
Listening to a story and talking about it.
Math
This week we will learn about number 3. How to form 3 and how many counting cubes represent number 3. Revision of numbers 1 and 2.
The Triangle will be introduced this week. How to identify it and what objects around us are shaped like a triangle. Revision of objects shaped like a Circle and Square.
Science
My Five Senses.
We will focus on taste this week and the difference between a sweet and salty taste. We will taste something sweet and salty.
Social Studies
Feelings that we have and how to be a good friend. The song we will learn is The More We Get Together.

Please remember to send in the signed forms from the Welcome Package that was given to you on Orientation Day. We will not be able to administer medication until you sign and return this form. Please empty your child's folder on the weekend and return the empty folder back to school on Sunday. P.E. is on Wednesday's so please send extra water for your child.

Dear Parents,
Thank you for being on time every day last week and for packing lunch boxes with a variety of healthy foods. Our first week went very well. All of the children are getting to know one another and their teachers. They are becoming comfortable with the school and their daily routine. This week we will have a vacation day on 11-9-2018 for the Islamic New Year.
Our theme is "All About Me". We will become familiar with recognizing the letters in our names and talking about how everyone is unique.
Language Arts
This week we will focus on letter Aa. Identification of Uppercase and Lowercase Aa and the letter sound for Aa.
Math
This week we will count from 1 to 20 and focusing on number 1 and how to represent one object. Also learning about the basic shapes and their attributes (circle, square, rectangle, triangle), focusing on the circle this week.
